Omega Xi History

Founding Sorority of the Delta Chapter

Omega Xi was founded on December 3, 1989 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The first president was Amy Brandt, who wanted to promote women in the Greek Community at MSOE. Academics and social activities were equally stressed by Omega Xi Sorority.

Omega Xi was recognized as an organization by MSOE's Student Government on January 11, 1990 and was recognized as a fraternal organization by MSOE's Greek Council on January 19, 1990. On February 1, 1990 Omega Xi became a permanent member of MSOE's Greek Council.

A goal was set by the sisters of Omega Xi to become a national sorority within five years after establishment. Their goal was set into motion when on April 13, 1992, the sisters of Omega Xi became initiated as a colony of Alpha Omega Epsilon.

Finally on August 1, 1992 their dream became reality when they were initiated into Alpha Omega Epsilon as the Delta Chapter.
